Attractions

Sealife Adventure features 10 exhibits: Pangea, Coastline, Abyss, HMS Sub-Tropical, Whitewater, Wild Bugs & Beasts, Rescue Monkeys, Care & Conservation, Ray Bay, and Deepwater World. Visitors can travel back in time and discover some “living dinosaurs” down at the Pangea exhibit or witness the world’s fiercest ocean predators living in harmony with varieties of tropical fish as they walk through the tunnel of the Deepwater World exhibit’s 195,000-litre tank. Visitors will be accompanied by a member of Sealife Adventure’s friendly and knowledgeable team to impart valuable information about the animals in the exhibit.

Facilities

Sealife Adventure has no dedicated parking area. However, there is a large council, pay and display car park near the entrance that also offers disabled parking.

Wheelchair access and mobility

Sealife Adventure considers its exhibits wheelchair-accessible with a carer. Guests must provide their own wheelchair, or book one at Southend tourist centre at 01702 215120. There are also disabled toilets located at the yellow beach hut in the main foyer.

Guide Dogs

Visitors with guide dogs can bring their companion provided that the dog has at least 4 years of training and present an ID book as proof that their guide dog is a registered medical assistance dog. Dogs are not allowed to wander freely in the aquarium, stay close to its owner at all times and wear a recognisable harness and muzzle at all times.

Food and Drinks

Exploring the many exhibits of Sealife Adventure requires plenty of energy. Fortunately, the aquarium has food venues that can provide you with anything from a light snack to top quality gourmet meals.

The Three Shells is twinned with the Three Shells Beach Cafe, and can be visited without going to Sealife Adventure. They serve anything from coffee to light snacks.

Those seeking an authentic dining experience must head to The Britannia, which was built in 1793 and used as a residence until 1841. The Britannia is a modern restaurant housed in a historic building and serves only the best seafront food.

Families will definitely have a fun time at Feelgoods Diner which offers a lively atmosphere filled with music and live singing along with its sumptuous food. The two-floor diner also has an arcade equipped with state-of-the-art machines that children and children-at-heart will enjoy playing with.

Nothing beats fish n’ chips during a day of exploration at Sealife Adventure. Pavilion Fish & Chip Emporium offers freshly made fish n’ chips that you can enjoy at the seaside.

Schedule

Sealife Adventure is open daily from 10am all year round, with the exception of Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Last entry to the aquarium is 35 minutes before the centre’s closing time.

Tickets

Traditionally, tickets must be booked before 10am on the day of your visit, otherwise it will be valid for the next day instead.

Children below 90cm can visit for free when accompanied by an adult. On the other hand, an On The Day ticket costs £12.50 while an Annual Pass costs £15 and will allow you to visit Sealife Adventure as many times as you want for 12 months. Holders of the Annual Adventure Island Pass get 50% off the on-the-day rates.

Gift Shop

Complete your adventure by dropping by the Sealife Adventure Gift Shop. The gift shop offers plenty of adorable items and mementos that you can take home after your day at the aquarium. Annual pass holders get a 20% discount while those who pre-book their on-the-day tickets can look forward to getting up to 20% off their gift shop purchase(s) too!
